I started with PHP in my graduation 7th semester B.E, i liked PHP most because of its simplicity. It takes less than 24 hours to learn and develop web applications using PHP , for complex projects we need frameworks with mvc architecture php mvc , cake php, symfony, code igniter and etc .. are few of well established php frameworks, my search with frameworks ended up with zend framework.
I referred lot of sites to get started with mvc in php, the way php fascinated the web with its amazing features and functionality, zend framework adds on much more capabilities for php web applications, which will help us building the complex projects.
I started reading zend framework documentation earlier in april 2007, just writing chunks of code and understanding each classes of zend framework.
If you want to get started with zend framework, i would recommend reading official zend framework documentation and try to execute the sample code.
Reading zend documentation on framework will intiate the ideas, but i needed a big picture to get started with the first project which i wanted to start on zend framework, then my friend Anand referred me a screen cast for zend framework. The screen cast on Zend framework screen cast by Mitchell Hashimoto, helped me to accelerate the project development using zend framework.
zftutorials also provides lot of articles on zend framework.

1Good chunks of PHP related posts. Though I am not aware of this programming language, I was able to grab the overview ideas cleanly.
Good and keep posting.

5Hi Ganesh,
Good Efforts for zend Framework Tutorial. Very excited to use it in our projects.
But I am currently sitting in between two fires, and cannot decide which
one is the best. There is a need for me to replace our current “hand
written” framework (mambo based) with a more formalized and better written one. The
main aim is to speed up our development time, and off course to have
more structure & rules in our coding standard/methodology if you will.
I cannot, for the love of me, decide between:
- Zend Framework
- Symfony
- evoCore
- Joomla framework
- Adobe
Does anybody have experience in either of these? I’d like some
pointers on what you experienced in terms of the good and bad of each.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Best regards,
Jyotsna

Well i had same problem, you cant believe i started hunting for using frameworks, started with phpmvc(project released by java struts team) in 2006, it was more like java coding, php became famous due to its simplicity, hundreds of lines lines of coding could be done in just few lines.
Then later i tried with cakePHP, although has good documentation then ended up without good examples which will lead to the big picture of framework.
Mean time i had heard of zend framework, since this is the company who were the creators of php, i trusted these will emerge like anything, you are thinking of using a framework, but just refer the library classes they are providing.
I had finished 2 projects with total of 24 hours, thats the powerful nature of zend framework fast simple very effective, thats all we need in the startup company environment.
